This project was driven by a need to enhance the Coker Drum switching operation by controlling the order in which valves could be moved.

Burrow Global provided FEED and detailed engineering design.
This project involved laser scanning of the unit and subsequent modeling of the new system in PDS. Piping and limited structural and E&I drawings were generated from the model. Balance of the construction drawings were developed in 2-D AutoCAD. Stress analyses were generated for both the vapor and feed piping. Four 3-D model reviews and a constructability review were held at critical stages of the project.
Burrow Global developed PLC Logic diagrams, matrixes and narratives. Hazops were held and documented. P&ID's were revised. Equipment FAT procedures were developed and executed in Canada, Houston and Baton Rouge. Cable tray was modeled for installation under the Coker deck.
Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures were developed and executed by Burrow Global. Test panels were designed and built for executing the SAT, which considerably reduced turnaround time. Very large control panels for local operation were designed and constructed. Thirty - one (31) new ball and gate valves, sizes 2" to 20", were installed and interlocked by a new PLC system with local and remote HMIs and local control panels.
Project utilized EPCM Man-hours: 34,757 and was executed without incident.
