Scope Description:
Construction of a new 1,300 square foot Main Gate Security Building with associated access control and parking facility. Project consisted of improving the site elevation at this location and construction of a single story Class “A” structure with a 5 ply built up roof system and Avadek canopy. The terrorist resistance and Category 3 (125 MPH) hurricane designed building was constructed with 1-5/16” high performance gray tint insulated and laminated vision glass. The exterior of the building was surfaced with 2 colors of king size brick to accent aesthetics and visibility for visitor approach. Custom handrails, Emergency Generac Generator and approximately 8,000 square foot of asphalt paved parking were installed to enhance functionality and access to the building. All electrical service was fed through multiple underground duct banks under the two main entrances of the refinery. Turnstiles, bollards and down lighting were installed to enhance overall facility performance, security and control.

All work was accomplished without disrupting operations and traffic flow into the plant.

The interior of the building was furnished with a solid surface counter top in the reception/security entrance area. Burrow Global enhanced this area with custom interior down lighting through an acoustical drop ceiling. There are ceramic tile floors and base throughout the building except the Captains office which has 2’x2’ commercial grade carpet squares. Interior walls are covered with vinyl wall coverings for ease of maintenance and longevity. In the security check-in area, extensive custom millwork was installed to accommodate 6 computer stations with recessed telecom outlets. Interior spaces include security check in area, offices, telecom, rest rooms, and break room with full kitchen to accommodate 24/7 365 operations. Access to interior spaces beyond the Security area is secured with card reader controlled access doors.
